Our Team
Our staff are a very important element of Brown and Company, and where our strength lies. All bring various backgrounds, skills and interests to the job and their participation and input in the design process is encouraged, as is the promotion of their individual skill sets and interests. We all aim to provide the customer with friendly, polite service at a high standard of workmanship.
In an on-going effort to provide our customers with the best possible service, we maintain our own in-house code of conduct, health and safety, training, standard of workmanship and environmental protection policies. Our goal is to make Brown and Company the most responsible corporate citizen we can in the horticultural sector in Bermuda. These policies form as much a contract with our customers as our formal tenders do.

MARTIN BROWN
Owner
MARTIN BROWN has been in the horticultural and arboricultural industry since 1987 and holds qualifications in arboriculture, horticulture, landscape design and construction. He previously had 10 years’ experience in the UK and after his return to Bermuda in 1997 he spent time in the private landscape design and installation sector. Martin formed Brown and Company in 1999 whilst working for the Bermuda Government as the Senior Superintendent of the Parks Department where he stayed until joining Brown and Company full time in 2005.

POPPY BROWN
Operations
POPPY BROWN completed a degree is psychology and then joined us in 2018 as a part time administrator. She soon realized that she enjoyed the work and became more and more involved in the operations. Poppy is now a City and Guilds qualified horticulturalist and is training under Martin Brown in all aspects of design, surveying, site work, operations and management.
JOSE VIEIRA
Foreman/Operations Manager, Hard Landscape Team
JOSE VIEIRA is the foreman/operations manager of our hard landscape teams. Joe joined us in 2009 and holds trade certificates in carpentry and construction management as well as golf course grounds maintenance. Joe’s team handles all our hard landscape installations and small building works from retaining walls, natural stone walls, timber structures, block paving and natural stone paving. The team operates with the highest level of skill and workmanship.
